About Us
Christopher Mills, SAMS, AMS, is a professional, accredited marine surveyor with thirty years experience in the marine industry including new-build construction, repair/refit, new vessel commissioning.
Christopher also has over 15 years experience in attending marine losses for various domestic and foreign based underwriters, to include all phases of surveying, claim investigation, and adjustment aspects in the USA, Caribbean Basin, Central & South America. Marine loss assignments include a broad and diverse spectrum of vessels including those in the larger “mega-yacht” category, power and sail.
History
Butch (Kermit) Naylor, CMS, formed Southern Yachts Surveyors, in 1979, after many years in the marine industry. Until his passing in 2006, he devoted himself to the business of marine surveying, and continued to mentor others in the field, giving of his time and talent in the furtherance of his profession.
Christopher Mills, AMS, began working with Mr. Naylor in 1995, and is principal surveyor with Southern Yacht Surveyors.
We continue in the tradition of providing outstanding service to our clients, including claims handlers, maritime attorneys, and private owners.
